THE OPPORTUNITY:

Creative intern should have a working understanding of layout, type, and color, and is able to take instructions form Art Directors/Print Coordinator and create a complete layout, new or revised, working in Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator and Freehand (ie: business cards, letterhead, forms, brochures).

Other responsibilities include:

• Deliver and pick-up projects and materials within the Wichita Koch complex.
• Assist creative team in all areas of archiving and maintaining records.
• Archive past computer files onto the cd archive system
• Work closely with Print Coordinator and Art Directors on new and existing production projects
• Assist Art Directors in development, design and production of marketing and promotional materials in a variety of media
• Create and maintain professional departmental and customer relations While we believe a meaningful work experience is the most important part of a successful internship program, we still manage to have fun over the summer months. Over the course of your internship we build in exciting activities designed to make the intern experience a lively and educational one. A few of the activities you will be involved include Market Based Management training, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Wichita Wide Intern Socials, Faculty and Family Day, and an end of summer Banquet.

THE RIGHT STUFF:

• Completed basic classes in design and software
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of graphic software and basic principles of layout.

PREFERRED:

• Portfolio that shows work as freelancer or school projects
• Graphic Design major – focus on design, marketing and/or communications
