Kids Invent Toys

2008 Summer Camp "A wildly creative entrepreneurial learning program!"

Kids Invent Toys is a non-resident summer camp held on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus for kids in grades 3-8. For kids with creative minds, the Kids Invent Toys camp will expand their horizons in just five days. The camp runs from 8am to 4pm daily Monday through Friday. Snacks will be provided, but lunch should be brought to the camp each day. We will be taking a field trip to a toy store as well as conducting experiments outside. KIT kids will receive a t-shirt at the camp, as well as prizes and awards throughout the week. At the end of the program, KIT kids will get to keep their invented toy and feel empowered to consider commercializing their ideas!

Entrepreneurship!

Your child will learn how to start a business by:

• Conducting market research at a local toy store
• Creating a business plan
• Designing website advertisements
• Creating display advertisements for their toy
• Building, improving, and experimenting with toys
• Inventing and building their own original toy that could become the next Slinky!
• Displaying their toys at a public toy fair
• Orienting them to compete in invention contests
