Kristin Gokie Major: Finance Hometown: Lincoln, NE
This is Kristin’s first year working as a project leader for the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship. She is in charge of planning the 2007 Heartland Free Enterprise Conference and Nebraska Distinguished Entrepreneur Awards. Kristin enjoys working for the Center because it gives her the opportunity to interact with business leaders and entrepreneurs in the community. In addition, she is helping to foster the spirit of innovation throughout the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. Kristin will graduate in May 2007 and wants to travel internationally before starting a career in the financial services industry.
Brett Walburn Major: Marketing with a Concentration in Advertising Hometown: Davenport, NE
Brett is in his 2nd year as a project leader for the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship. Brett is studying Marketing and Advertising and enjoys applying his experience and background in Marketing to plan and coordinate NCE events. He finds it rewarding that the events he coordinates for students gives them unique and valuable opportunities. Last year Brett coordinated the Women in Business Benefit and Kids Invent Toys camps. This year Brett is the project leader for the UNL Venture Plan Championships. Brett hopes to work for a company in a marketing-related field upon graduation in May.
Ryan Bourlier Major: MBA Program, emphasis in Strategic Management Hometown: Kimball, NE
Ryan assists the Director of the NCE with special projects and provides instructional support. He is the coordinator for the Intern-preneurship Program and believes he can have a positive impact on our future entrepreneurs by facilitating experiential learning through the internship program. Ryan has experience in hospitality, banking, and insurance and loves to learn about principles that make people successful in business and life. He is looking forward to exploring opportunities in the areas of entrepreneurship or management consulting upon completion of the MBA program in December 2007.
Nick Torgusson Major: Construction Management Minor: Business Hometown: Detroit Lakes, MN
This is Nick’s third year working for the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship. Nick is studying Construction Management and Business. Nick hopes to have his own construction business someday. He is organizing this year’s New Ventures World Competition and the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, Northern Region. Nick takes pride in working for the Center because of the opportunities that he creates for UNL students. He enjoys entrepreneurship because it poses many challenges and can be very rewarding.
Vito Teruna Major: International Business Hometown: Surabaya, Indonesia
This is Vito first year working for the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship. He is responsible for the 2007 Allen Dayton Young Entrepreneurs Scholars Contest and the 2007 Art Entrepreneurship day. Vito is a young entrepreneur and has established several businesses. He likes challenge, and always opens to new ideas. Vito will be graduated on fall 2008. “The center really helped me to develop my business skills in many ways. I am able to interact with many other young entrepreneurs across Nebraska and gain advice from expert businesses people. Working at the Center really gives me experiences needed to achieve my long term goals”
