International Transfer Students

Many of the rules for students transferring credit internationally are no different than for students transferring them across the city. The two basic ways to transfer credit are the same. These are by specific agreement with another institution and by evaluation. Because there are so many other institutions and a relatively small number of students we only have a small number of specific agreements out side of the U.S. If you are from one of these colleges then any credits that have been reviewed will automatically transfer. The appropriate department must individually review all other credits.

A limit of 66 semester hours of credit can be transferred from an international college or university.

In order to assist students transferring internationally the University has setup a system for this process. After a student arrives they will be through this process by International Affairs and the International Admissions Office.

It is especially important for international students to enroll in the proper number of hours each semester and in courses that will apply towards their degree. In order to accomplish this they should be sure to inform the Admissions Office of their INTENT TO ENROLL after the University has accepted them. This will allow them to enroll in courses early enough to have a good selection. Forms will be provided for this purpose through the Admissions Office.

The following web site will provide more specific information on the transfer process.
