FFA Judging

Since 2001 the Agribusiness MBA Program has been coordinating and judging the Nebraska FFA Ag Marketing event. This event consists of two components, a written marketing plan and the formal PowerPoint presentation of the ag marketing plan. High schools students throughout Nebraska compete in this event. The winner of the state event then represents Nebraska in the national competition in the Fall. The purpose of this event is to expose high school students to the possibility of careers in ag marketing and have them gain real world experience with a local agribusiness. Ag marketing plan topics have included agritourism, farm equipment, aerial services and many valued added agricultural products.

To assist in exploring the FFA student's future in marketing, Agribusiness MBA students travel to Nebraska high schools to give seminars on marketing, SWOT analysis and marketing research. They also provide commentary and critiques to school that send in their marketing plan during the revision phase.

In addition to awards to the top three Ag Marketing awards given out by each state, the Agribusiness MBA Program has developed three excellence awards to encourage the development of specific skill sets. These awards are given to the teams which receive the highest scores in the areas of Written Ag Marketing Plan, Marketing Research, and PowerPoint Presentation.
